Offers training in methods of global environmental history through history of humans, non-humans, and ecology in Panama. Topics range from deep environmental history of Panama Isthmus, ecological consequences of Spanish and U.S. imperialism, environmental controversies, and twenty-first century issues. Students gain a working knowledge of the history of Panama through interdisciplinary environmental historical methods.
