The Department of History maintains a chapter of Phi Alpha Theta, the National History Honors Society. Our mission is to promote the study of History and foster a sense of community within the UW History Department by holding a variety of academic and social events. Membership Requirements:
Undergraduate students must have completed at least 12 semester hours in History (4 courses) with a GPA of at least 3.1 in History, have a GPA of 3.0 or better overall, and be in the top 35% of the class. Membership is not limited to History majors.
Graduate students should have completed a minimum of 12 semester hours towards their Master's Degree in History, have a GPA of better than 3.5, and shall have completed approximately 30% of the residence requirements for the Master's Degree.

To apply for membership to Phi Alpha Theta, please complete the membership form and submit your one-time membership fee using the Paypal button below (applications can not be processed until the membership fee is paid). If you prefer to pay by cash or check, please contact Professor Urbanski (urbanski@uw.edu).
After your application and payment are received, your unofficial transcript will be reviewed to confirm your eligibility. The membership fee will be returned to you if there is any problem processing your application.
