History alumna Kate Brown wins two ASEEES book prizes

Dr. Kate Brown, who earned a PhD from UW History in 2000, and currently Professor of Science, Technology, and Society at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, has won the Reginald Zelnik and Marshal Shulman book prizes for her book Manual for Survival: An Environmental History of the Chernobyl Disaster (W. W. Norton & Company, 2019). Both prizes were awarded by the Association for Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies.
