Margaret O'Mara, recently interviewed by the on-line journal Crosscut, is bringing urban history to life in an innovative class project on the history of Seattle's dynamic South Lake Union neighborhood. Each student in the class examined a single city block of the area and used close observation, questioning, photography, and the study of public documents, to create a fascinating online portfolio of its micro-history.
